job description

The Live Event Interaction & Retail position reports to our Live Event Coordinator and is an on-call position responsible for day-of activities related to layout and display, sales and inventory while keeping the conversation flowing with customers at Live Screen-printing Events. You will be contacted 1-2 weeks in advance with event details to see if you are available. Time commitments for a single event range from 4-8 hours, usually on weekends, and our ‘event season’ is heavily concentrated in the Fall.


Responsibilities

  • Follow detailed written instruction from Live Event Coordinator about use of POS system, equipment load-in process, and be able to implement Live Event floor-plan and product displays

  • Working quickly within tight time parameters for loading, setting-up and breaking down materials

  • You are the public ‘face’ of CREAM, ensure that our high standards of friendly professionalism are met with all interactions 

  • Communicate and collaborate with the Live Event - Interaction & Printer on day-of event responsibilities including loading, commuting to and from event, set-up, maintaining a clean and inviting print space for customers, and engaging customers based on the goals of the event.

  • Engage and interact with customers about the printing process, answer general questions about CREAM and quickly and efficiently help clients select their garment and pay using a POS system

  • Be flexible and able to adapt to our varied Live Events (Marketing Focused Events where all garments are given away for free where a positive customer experience is a priority, Sales Focused Events where high-volume and speed are a priority, and Community Focused Events where education and skills-sharing are a priority. Live Events will usually have a mixture of these priorities and adapting to them is an important part of working Live Events)

  • Problem solve in busy and sometimes crowded event spaces

  • Give thoughtful and practical feedback on how to improve our events and streamline our process


Skills Required*

  • Reliable and responsible

  • Detail oriented

  • Able to think on your feet and solve problems alone and with others

  • Able to interact and make connections with a steady stream of people while maintaining energy and professionalism 

  • Able to lift and load materials up to 20 pounds, and assist Printer with lifting heavier equipment

  • Able to climb stairs

  • Able to be on your feet for events ranging from 4-8 hours in indoor or outdoor locations

If would be a ‘plus’ if you...

  • Had experience with POINT OF SALE systems

  • Had a form of transportation such as a truck or SUV: capable of hauling manual press, mini dryer, 3 folding tables, and 3 boxes of materials.

  • Spoke another language (Spanish is a plus plus!)
